与世界400多队伍耶鲁比拼世界学者杯冠军赛 Tournament of Champions 2022

In November, 8 students from Han Chiang High School went to Yale University empty-handed, and returned with gold and silver awards adorning their necks – including the position of 3rd in Malaysia.

After winning 220 gold and silver medals and 17 trophies at the Penang Regional Rounds, as well as 94 gold medals, 51 silver medals, and 11 trophies in the Bangkok Global Round, Han Chiang High School once again sent a total of 8 students to the Tournament of Champions – the final round of the yearly World Scholar’s Cup season – held at Yale University. Among the 8 students, 3 of them were sponsored by the school. The competition was held from November 11th to November 16th, hosted by the Yale International Relations Association.

The 8 students participated in the Senior Division of the round: Estelle Sia Yu Qi (SE11), Samuel Phun Wei Xen (C13), Yeoh Soon Meng, (JSE11), Ooi Yan Jin (SE12), Yap Q-Ann (SE12), Christina Lee Davin (JSE13), Pang Jun Wen (S1), and Teoh Qi En (J31).

Going up against over 400 teams from 30 countries, Han Chiang High School’s teams returned from the States with glory, achieving a total of 73 medals and 1 trophy, including 44 gold medals and 29 silver medals. The team – consisting of Estelle Sia, Yeoh Soon Meng, and Samuel Phun – placed 3rd in Malaysia, 8th Overall Champion Team in Southeast Asia, and 26th Overall Champion Team. Across the several events, their notable achievements were placing 6th in Team Writing, 15th in Team Challenge, 51st in Team Debate, and 76th in Team Bowl.

As for the team including Ooi Yan Jin, Yap Q-Ann, and Christina Lee Davin, they placed 41st Overall Champion Team, 34th Team Challenge, 36th Team Bowl, and 108th Team Debate. Lastly, Pang Jun Wen and Teoh Qi En won 12th Team Debate and 124th Team Bowl.

A series of competitive events took place in the theatres of the prestigious Yale University followed as: the Scholar’s Challenge, Collaborative Writing, Team Debate, and the Scholar’s Bowl. Han Chiang High School competed against the top champions of other global rounds in an extremely competitive field with their students in less-than-optimal conditions. Competing on a more cut-throat scale, as well as the inconsistencies from any violations in competitive integrity in the Bowl, Han Chiang High School still placed among the top spots against thousands despite the difficulties and challenges faced.

Gaining precious insight from their experiences in Yale University, Han Chiang High School’s students were rewarded with irreplaceable knowledge and experience, while also bringing back glory for the country, and by default, the school.

经过世界学者杯区域赛220个金奖及银奖、17座奖杯；国际赛囊括94金51银11座奖杯后，韩江中学再派出8名学生，并赞助其中3位学生，前往美国参加由耶鲁大学国际关系协会主办，于11月11日至16日在耶鲁大学举行的世界学者杯年度冠军赛。

8位同学都是高中组的：谢宇淇(SE11)、潘威升(C13)、杨顺明(JSE11)、黄衍锦(SE12)、叶乔妍(SE12)、李悦恩(JSE13)、彭俊文(S1)和张琪恩(J31)。

韩江中学8位学生代表队与全球30个国家400多支队伍的精英一决高下，过关斩将共获得44枚金牌，29枚银牌和1座奖杯光荣归来。 由谢宇淇、杨顺明和潘威升组成的队伍夺得马来西亚第3名、东南亚第8名、总冠军队第26名。 他们也赢得团队写作第6名、团队挑战第15名、团队辩论第51名、团队测验第76名。

而黄衍锦、叶乔妍和李悦恩的队伍分别获得第41名总冠军队、第34名挑战队、第36名测验组和第108名辩论队。 至于庞俊文和张启恩则赢得了第12名团体辩论赛和第124名测验队。

一系列的竞争活动在著名的耶鲁大学的剧院举行，包括学者挑战赛、协作写作、团队辩论和学者测验。 韩江中学在竞争激烈的领域与其他全球巡回赛的顶级冠军同场竞技，尽管面临困难和挑战，韩江中学的队伍仍然在数千人中名列榜首。

韩江中学8位学生们，在耶鲁大学世界学者杯的比赛经历中获得宝贵与无可替代的知识，同时也为国家和学校赢得了荣耀。
